VEX PRINCE
Kauris Music // Koko Productions
Born Prince Eric Munezero in Kigali, Rwanda, Vex is a rising Afrobeats artist known for blending rich East African rhythms with the emotional storytelling of R&B, Afro-pop, and Amapiano. His music speaks to personal transformation, heartbreak, healing, and the joy of self-discovery. Initially passionate about soccer, Vex slowly shifted toward music, memorizing tracks by local legends like Riderman and Bulldogg; performing them at school events. A spontaneous studio session in 2019 — where he unexpectedly laid down his first verse — changed everything. That one verse became the spark for a career. Encouraged by friends who believed in his raw talent and even funded his early sessions, Vex began recording and never looked back. His musical foundation was shaped by his older brother's love for hip-hop, with artists like Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, Bruce Melodie, King James, and Sauti Sol also becoming key influences. Today, his taste spans Afrobeats, Amapiano, R&B, UK rap, and drill, mirroring the versatility in his sound. In March 2024 — on his birthday — Vex signed with Kauris Music under KOKO PRODUCTIONS. Just as he was on the verge of giving up, a call from longtime friend Alik Bulan and Kauris/KOKO CEO Max Konan brought new life to his dreams. The label embraced him fully, with high-quality music videos and the release of his debut album: Levitation released in 2025. The album captures both pain and elevation featuring tracks like Holy Water, Bad Energy, Somebody, and Wahala. Another notable track on the album is Money, a collaboration with Ivorian artist Dorty, known for his "Afrobeat Ivoire" sound. Vex also collaborated with Fior2Bior. Vex is currently promoting Levitation, building meaningful collaborations with Rwandan and East African artists like Bruce Melodie, The Ben, Chriss Eazy, Element Eleeh, and Bien, while already working on his second studio album.
